Me and my family had just completed our planned Philippine Vacation Trip in Cebu , Laoag Ilocos Norte and Vigan Ilocos Sur and one of the place where we stayed is Villa Angela Heritage House in Vigan Ilocos Sur. If you are planning to have a Vigan Tour, I can say that staying in Villa Angela is probably the best thing you could plan while staying in Vigan.
In Villa Angela you could really experience living in an old house which also shows how hospitable are Ilocanos. I forget to ask the names of Ate and Kuya who have managed to make our stay in Villa Angela a great time. They really let us feel that we are a part of the family who just made our vacation in Vigan. As if we are not traveler but a part of the family.
Ghost ? Hhhmm.. Ofcourse there is no ghost in this place, My children was afraid at first but after the day of staying in this place they are asking me to extend for another day 🙂 but unfortunately we have already booked in other hotel in Laoag . We stayed in Cuarto De Las Hijas.
Breakfast was included in the rate that they have provided me. You could choose from Daing na Bangus or Longanisa. They have different rate for different time of the year. So you better check with them.

Villa Angela Location
Villa Angela is located very near to Crisologo street in Vigan Heritage City. Crisologo street is a place in Vigan where you could really see old houses. The area is preserved to defict the old Vigan. It is also a walking distance from Grocery stores where you could buy anything that you need in your vacation.
Mode of transportation are Calesa and Tricycle.
I therefore recommend Villa Angela to travelers in Vigan. Villa Angela was indeed one of the best place to stay in Vigan
More about Villa Angela
Here are some information taken from their website :
Built by Gobernadorcillo Agapito Florendo y Bonifacio in 1870, Villa Angela stands proudly on a 2,000 square meter lot as a shining example of a Vigan Heritage House. Being a rich depository of the family’s relics and memorabilia acquired through the years, Villa Angela remains a showcase of the family’s past and present standing in the Vigan community.
The rooms are filled with antique furniture seen only in big colonial houses. On the lower floor, what were once storage areas for the family’s farm produce of rice, corn, maguey, and tobacco have been converted into cozy dormitory-style rooms which can accommodate larger groups
Suggestion and Recommendation
Villa Angela does not have Wifi Connection but you could use their computer in their office to be connected to the internet. Free of charge. I think it would be better if they could set up an internet connection in ” Sala ” or in the room.
Thanks, Dexter, for an excellent review of our Villa Angela. The Kuya and Ate you referred to are Tony and Maricris “Kitkit” Pandoro, who have been taking good care of our ancestral house for more than 15 years now.
@famverzosa,

Hi, I’m very interested in Linux but Im a Super Newbie and I’m having trouble deciding on the right distribution for me (Havent you heard this a million times?) anyway here is my problem, I need a distribution that can switch between reading and writing in English and Japanese (Japanese Language Support) with out restarting the operating system.
We also stayed there when me and my friends went on our Ilocos tour. I love it there. 😀

Ah ok. Yeah, it’s nice to see the old Philippines. Ingat sir. Enjoy your vacation.
@Gines,
Salamat . pabalik na rin kami sa Saudi 🙂
When we were still in the Philippines, my wife (Ilokana/Kapampangan) and I would usually spend a week or two in Caoayan (about 10mins drive from Vigan). We literally live in the middle of their farm. There’s electricity but you have to use the good, old water pump. It’s a good experience away from city.
In fact, our civil wedding was held at the Caoayan Town Hall by the Mayor himself.
Did you try the Vigan longganisa, cake, bagnet, ukoy & empanada (in Plaza Burgos), miki, lomo, pinakbet, pinapaitan, dinengdeng and sinanglao?
I hope you tried Cafe Leona as well. They make good pizza through their stone oven.
I missed those! Made me hungry 🙁
Did you also try the beaches up north?
@Gines,
I have tasted some of it, like longanisa, bagnet, miki, lomi, pinakbet, dinegdeng and I like it.
Our visit in Vigan is limited. Perhaps next time I will try to stay 3 days in Fort Ilocandia and to try also the beach resort.
Maybe next time. What we made in Ilocos was a museum trip 🙂
