Steve Jobs’ legacy – Apple – ranked the 19th most profitable company of the world in CNN’s Global 500 last 2013. Known as the fastest innovator of mobile phones and other similar devices, consumers are always waiting for the new iPhone to come out of the market. Word about the iPhone 6 already circulating, but is keeping up with the constant change worth it for Apple consumers? Here are specs comparisons among the latest Apple iPhones – iPhone 5s vs iPhone 5c – to help you decide for yourself.
iPhone 5s: “With iPhone 5s, you’re more powerful than you think.â€
Apple associates the use of iPhone 5s with being powerful especially because it uses Apple’s latest 64-bit system on a chip (SOC) called the A7 which has double the speed and graphics capability as its predecessor, the A6. A7 works with the M7 motion processor which processes and stores collected data even if the device is inactive, another innovation from Apple.
iPhone 5s also introduced Apple’s first fingerprint identity sensor which, as the name suggests, uses the owners fingerprint to be able to unlock the phone. The sensor can also be used for approving purchases from the iTunes store, App store and the iBooks store. Moreover, the user can also save multiple fingerprints so that trusted people can access his device.
More incredible features of the iPhone 5s include a 4-inch diagonal Retina display with a 1136-by-640 resolution and 336 pixels per inch (ppi). It also has an 8-megapixel iSight camera which can record 1080p videos with 30 frames per second (fps). The device can last up to 250 hours in standby with its built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
iPhone 5s’ prices are 199USD for 16GB, 299USD for 32GB and 399USD for 64GB. It is available in silver, space gray and gold.
iPhone 5c: “Color is more than just a hue; it reveals your personality
The 5c uses Apple’s older system on a chip, the A6 32-bit package on package (PoP) SOC. It has no co-processor unlike iPhone 5s’ M7 motion processor. The device also lacks its successor’s fingerprint identity sensor.
iPhone 5c also has an 8-megapixel iSight camera with the same recording capabilities as 5s. The two models have almost the same features but 5c doesn’t have auto image stabilization and burst mode. It also cannot record slo-mo videos which 5s can do. On the other hand, the power capability of 5c is comparable to 5s’. Its built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery can also last up to 250 hours in standby.
With less features, iPhone 5c’ prices are less expensive – 99USD for 16GB and 199USD for 32GB. It is available in more colors including white, pink, yellow, blue and green.
