Google is Buying Quickoffice, Competing Microsoft?

I just read from the news that Google is buying Quickoffice, the maker of a widely used mobile application for working on documents created in Microsoft’s programs for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.

I think this is a great move for Google in order to compete with Microsoft Corporation. The acquisition was announced on Tuesday, January 5, 2012. According to the news, there are about 400 million devices equipped with Quickoffice app. The application works on several types of devices, including Apple Inc.’s iPhone and iPad and those running Google’s Android software. The financial terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed.
