Another Mass Layoff for computer related jobs has been reported . A computer parts manufacturer TDK Fujitsu Philippines Corp. (TFPC), which makes magnetic recording heads for computer hard disk drives, said it laid off 2,000 workers in its Biñan, Laguna facility, Philippines have already sent internal memo to those concerned people that will be included in the mass layoff
MANILA, Philippines – About 2,000 Filipino workers of Japanese information technology systems integrator and solutions provider Fujitsu will be laid off next month, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said on Wednesday.
Labor Secretary Marianito Roque said Fujitsu informed him of the layoffs about an hour before posting time.
He said the layoffs were due to the merger of Fujitsu and another Japanese company.
Fujitsu has reportedly filed a notice of the layoffs effective next month.
Meanwhile, Roque said he has already sent the DOLE Quick Response Team to assist the workers. He said the workers will be accepted into a program for retraining. – GMANews.TV
