It is the time of the year when the newest and the latest innovations are showcased in one big event- the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The biggest consumer technology expo will happen in Las Vegas starting January 8 to January 10 of this year. Top electronics and IT companies will debut their latest gadgets at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
There are a lot of excited rumors as to what the top players in the industry will launch during the event. We are set to see a lot of tablet PCs, 3D TV’s and a whole lot of smartphones.
Smartphone manufacturers are set to show their Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich tablets with improved features. We are looking at LG, Samsung, Motorola, Dell and Asus to show us some cool and new tablets for this year. Hewlett Packard, who is mostly in the background in the tablet playground, is rumored to showcase new PalmPads to rival other tablets in the market. RIM is also set to make a new release of their PlayBook during the CES.
This year is the year of 4G smartphones. There are new smartphones that we are expecting from HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung to be launched at the event equipped with their brand new Android OS. Improved 3D televisions will also make it to the big tech event. Toshiba is to launch 3D-glasssse free technology and Samsung will showcase its lighter and less obtrusive 3D TV.
Microsoft, on the other hand, might just have a big announcement during the event. It is rumored that it will launch its own version of Google TV or launch a Windows Tablet. Apple, who is often a non-participant in CES events, is said to team up with Verizon for better service for their consumers
