March 11, 2014 was a historic day as Filipinos who love Nokia and the Android platform can now be experienced into a device as Nokia Philippines launched the Nokia X
Nokia X specifications:
- Dual micro sim, dual standby
- Nokia X Software Platform OS (based on AOSP)
- 4 inch capacitive WVGA display
- Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon dual core chipset
- 4 GB ROM (1.2 GB usable), 512 RAM
- 3.2 MP rear camera, no front camera
- Quadband 2G, dual band 3G
- FM Radio
- Micro SD expandable up to 32 GB
- 1500 mah
The operating system inside of it (Nokia X Software Platform) was based on the Android Open Source Platform (AOSP) so it can run Android apps. Even though there’s no Google Playstore, you can download apps thru the Nokia Store, third party app stores or you can load your APK files there. We were glad that you can use your telco’s prepaid load or it will charge later on your postpaid bill for use for in-game purchases as they had a demo. No need to register from any of the telcos as it solves the problem for those who don’t have a credit card.
Nokia X+ and Nokia XL were not there at the said launch as they will bring it depending on the market demand, consumers feedback and possibly at Q2 2014
From our first impressions, we checked that the back cover has a matte finish. The design is a beauty which reminds us of various Lumia phones.
Nokia X is already in stores in the Philippines for only P5990. It comes in bright green, bright red, white and black
Note: This is a Guest post of my representative in the Nokia X Event I blogged the other day.
