In the heels of the big announcements of industry giants Nokia, Samsung, Sony, Microsoft and Amazon, rumor mills are abuzz once again with news about an event to be hosted by Taiwanese smartphone and tablet maker HTC. The company is reportedly going to introduce two new tablets at a New York launch on September 19. Details about the new tablets have been leaking out steadily in the recent weeks adding fuel to the already strong suspicions of a new tablet launch.
One of the tablets that is reportedly about to be launch is the successor of the HTC Flyer. The tablet will reportedly sport a 7â€screen and will be running on the Android Jelly Bean. Speculations are also rife that the new tablet will include a 1280 x 768 pixel display, a 3-mega pixel rear camera and a 1-mega pixel front camera. A next generation 10-inch tablet with a Tegra 3 processor is also rumored to be launched during the event. It is speculated to have an unusual sporty appeal and comes with a 1G RAM.

The 10-inch tablet will compete head on with the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Apple iPad. The 7-inch model, on the other hand, will be competing against the Kindle Fire HD and Google’s Nexus 7. This can only mean that the new HTC tablets may have their work cut out for them to establish an equal footing with the tablets of the other companies which was launched earlier.
