I am usually using about 3GB to 4 GB monthly Bandwidth with 280 Unique Visitors a day and about an Average of 500 Page views a day. So what if, You are anticipating huge traffic that will increase your Page views in a day.
Last Time during Pacquaio and Barrera fight I got about 3,000 Unique visitors on that day ( as shown in the picture ). which is about 1/3 of my monthly visitors. So if this is the scenario, I can say that for this site every 1,000 unique visitors will consume 1 GB bandwidth. So if I am expecting a visitors of 15,000 Unique Visitor I have to get 15 GB bandwidth.
Luckily I have a good host that agree to give me a 20 GB Bandwidth this month. So I can say that I am prepared for the upcoming Pacquiao and Marquez Rematch Fight . Since I am always on the first page and on some keywords it’s on the top of the result as of to date. Although Pinoyblogero & Nierva is exchanging places with me.
Here are my recommendation on how to prepare for a huge traffic
- Contact your host provider, and tell them the story and ask them how they can make an arrangement for your traffic
- Make sure that your site will load fast on that time , Remember that with lots of information in the net , Visitors will not wait till your site loads and they press the x mark at the upper right corner and they will just disappear from your site.
Although I don’t know If I can still hang on top after lots of website tried to optimized with Pacquiao and Marquez fight I just hope I can find some videos immediately after the fight so I can share it to my readers. but for sure I will post the details of the fight as well as the observation for SEO purpose on this blog but it might be for E-mail or Feed subscriber only.
