Notification of Limited Account Access from Paypal?

I just received notification from PayPal that my account  is under Limited Account Access. Actually I don’t know why they did this. The only thing that had happen yesterday is I tried to transfer some funds to my Xoom Account and suddenly there has been some error.


And then when I open my email today it shows me this message.

We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. Because protecting the security of your account is our primary concern, we have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features. We understand that this may be an inconvenience but please understand that this temporary limitation is for your protection.

Case ID Number: XX-XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX

For your protection, we have limited access to your account until additional security measures can be completed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

To review your account and some or all of the information that PayPal used to make its decision to limit your account access, please visit the Resolution Center. If, after reviewing your account information, you seek further clarification regarding your account access, please contact PayPal by visiting the Help Center and clicking “Contact Us”.

We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Please understand that this is a security measure intended to help protect you and your account. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Upon checking the site and checking the link ” Learn why your account access is limited. ” it shows like this

Nov. 12, 2007: We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. We understand that this may be an inconvenience but please understand that this temporary limitation is for your protection

How to lift this Limited Account Access ?

According to Paypal Resource Center I have to do 3 things as follows :

  • Change Password
  • Change Security Question
  • Add Credit Card Details

I don’t have problem in the first two items but I do have problem in the last item since until now, my account is not yet verified due to the reason that Citibank sent my Card into a wrong Address. I have waited for 1 month and they just send it to my Philippine Address rather than my International Address.

What are the things I can do while on Limited Account Access ?

  • receive payments
  • place logos into your auction listings or on your website
  • update your account information

It only means PayPal can continuously enjoy your earned dollars, But you cannot get it until the ban has been lifted.

What are the things I can’t do while on Limited Account Access ?

  • send or request money
  • electronically transfer funds from your PayPal account
  • close your account

This is sad since we cannot enjoy the money that we earned. I still have $122 in my account, So I have to fixed this things in order for me to get my money.

Conclusion

I will take this on a positive side. What If it is true that somebody is trying to access my PayPal Account? and so PayPal just saved my day.

But it only means that Transferring Paypal to Xoom is not that 100% working smooth although I have tried transferring money from Paypal to Xoom before but not successful . Why will PayPal thinks that Xoom is a Third Party who is trying to access my account without my permission.

Do you suggest any other means of accepting funds from your international partner? Let me know your experience regarding this matter.

    been selling stuff getting good reviews.

    as money enter my paypal to certain small level

    i transfer to bank account, (the reason is don’t

    trust them paypal people i heard to many bad

    stories about them!)

    so today they blocked me,

    they say i must photo id with address, which i

    don’t have, they a bank statment from me also.

    i say to them close my account down, send me

    my $15 dollars. – getting photo 1d is going cost

    me money,

    So i think if you don’t your money with these

    paypal peolpe and trasfer your to account,

    they don’t like this so close you and keep your

    money. ach! i say and more ach!

    I have the same problem and have 233.77 US$ in PayPal account and try to solve this problem from 2004 untill now at the end of year 2004 add at least 3 credit cards 4 bank acounts cant solve this problems I think PayPal may be make profit from limited access for several milion US$. Now i will give this 233.77US$ to paypal and open other company do same bussiness
    like PayPal.Who know please tell me.

    uhm ganyan din po ung nangyari sakin this last november 20, 2009..

    sabi nila kelangan ko daw magsend ng BANK STATEMENTS sa 4 bank accounts ko na nka add sa paypal.. kaso ang problem ko puro newly account lang ung mga banks ko kaya ayaw pa ko bigyan.. tas binigyan ako nung isang bank, ang problem naman e wala ung address ko na kailangan ng PAYPAL para sa proof of address..

    kaya ginawa ko, nag send ako ng POSTAL ID, SSS, Driver’s License, saka VOTER’s ID.. lahat un may nkalagay na address ko..

    pano po kaya un?>

    me alam po ba kau na contact ng paypal?? aside sa email ska ung international number nila??

    kc student plang po ako.. 🙁

    Can anybody help.
    I created a paypal account but I mentioned a faulty postal address and country.

    Now I received a payment and my account is limited. I sent an e-mail to them, do any body know if they will unlimit my account once I request to change these information?

    How long does that take?

    I would like to help you but the problem we are on the same way.

    The only difference is you have your name different. But did you sent the documents with their required cover sheet?

    can someone help me paypal has limited my account access and they want my bank statement but the adderess and the name on it is different to the one which is reistered on paypal i have still sent it but will it work or not. please help me solve this problem. If it does gt sorted i wil pay you.
