Google entry in the tablet arena is going to be the most exciting event to look forward to this 2012. As rumors start to surface with the so-called features of Google tablet which according to Digitimes upstream source, Google will not compete directly with Apple iPad instead will produce a 7-inch tablet PC in order to compete closely withKindle Fire of the Amazon.

That Google will launch the new tablet around March-April of this year, taking Android Ice Cream Sandwich to run the tablet. What’s more intriguing is that, the price of the tablet is said to be cheaper than $199.

Definitely, the price issue will raise an eyebrow from experts in terms of quality of the tablet PC. In fact, report from the Washington Post last November 2011 stated that, Amazon is losing $3 for every Kindle Fire unit sold while its capability is in questioned. But in this case, it’s a strategy that Amazon executed to gain profit with the sale from its vast media products online through the tablet.

Now the question is, if Google would like to take the same path Amazon has initiated? This one is another wobbly speculation that people may not take seriously not until a real launch will take place by main source.

Designs: The Kindle Fire is black thing with rubberized back. It is made so simple with a solid assembly body design. The screen quality can compare with the iPad as it supports 16 million colors.

Advantages: It has a user-friendly interface and responsive; easy access to unlimited Amazon’s vast cloud library of ebooks, movies, TV shows and music; a 7 inch size which make it easy-to-hold.

Limitations: Kindle Fire has lack of buttons to adjust the volume or switch on and off. There were no cameras, so picture taking or video chatting can’t be used. No native calendar or address book applications. And there are lacks access to Google apps and popular Android apps like Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, Google Maps, Google Goggles and YouTube.

Specs: Amazon Silk browser for Web surfing through Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud; Modified Android operating system; Dual-core processor; 7-inch, 1024 x 600 pixel screen; 8 gigabytes of storage, Wi-fi only so it only works when a connection is available, ( no HDMI, 3G and antenna to connect to data networks).

Amazon Kindle Fire is an attractive tablet for $200 and it can be best alternative for iPad for those with simpler needs.

Google Reader and Google+ Integration

Another improvement is the rolling out of the new Google Reader design with the sole purpose to streamline with Google+ features. This integration will provide Reader users a lot better experience according to Allan Green, Google software engineer. Features such as:

· New look and feel that’s cleaner, faster, and nicer to look at.

· The ability to +1 a feed item (replacing "Like"), with an option to then share it with your circles on Google+ (replacing "Share" and "Share with Note").

So expect today that existing features from Google Reader will no longer work in favor for Google+ functionality.

Google Chrome Store better known as the Chromezone have silently make it’s debut in offline world.  The world’s first “Google store” opened  in Tottenham Court Road at 9am yesterday. The store sells Google’s Chromebook laptop and a few accessories such as headphones.This is the best time, since this month until December is the buying season in US. Google Chrome is only available online at UK as of this time. We all know that Apple has been very successful in it’s physical store so is Google following Apple’s path of success?

According to reports, a second pop-up store will open at Lakeside shopping centre in Essex on October 7 and more pilot shops are planned all over the world in the coming months. I don’t know if there will also be an official store in Philippines. So will we see more products to emerge from Google?

I believe that this is good move for Google. So care to share your opinion ?

According to Search Engine Land Google has confirmed that Google Panda Update 2.5 is seen this week.  There were no specifics about the Google Panda update. A Google employee reported stating about Google idea about the recent update as mentioned below :

We’re continuing to iterate on our Panda algorithm as part of our commitment to returning high-quality sites to Google users. This most recent update is one of the roughly 500 changes we make to our ranking algorithms each year.

Webpronews further reported on how Daniweb losses half of the 370K page views a day last Wednesday. Daniweb is an IT discussion forum that had received the first blow of Google Panda Update last February. Daniweb is recovering already and claims to have 110% percent recovery from February update until Wednesday when it was hit again by the recent Panda Update.

I have seen minor drop of traffic in some of my keywords but not the entire site. According to different articles that can be sen on the internet, Google Panda Update focus at on-site optimization. It only means that your site should have a good way of having on-site optimization. Interlinking your article will also help.

But of course all Google Panda update targets the crap site, and those site that is not giving value to its reader. So if your site falls under this category, there is a big chance that Google Panda Update 2.6 will hit those site.

The new Facebook profile called “Timeline“, which is in beta now, is scheduled to become live on users’ Facebook pages on September 30, 2011. As introduced by CEO Mark Zuckerberg last Thursday at F8 developers conference.

The new format can be used to construct a visual history of your life, limited only by the updates, photos, information and more that make up a Facebook user’s profile. This change also let you know what your friends are doing, what they are listening to, and in some cases even what websites they visit.

But expert software developers warned, users who don’t adjust their privacy settings to limit who can view their Timeline will be at great risk of identity theft.

Meanwhile, this buzz has created mixed reactions from Facebook users, including social media experts.

According to Mekahlo Medina, NBC LA. Timeline is the greatest thing Facebook has done to date. It’s the plain, simple truth. With “Timeline,” Facebook has put your existence, your entire life if you want it online. It makes every day people digitally immortal and it’s terrifyingly amazing.

Sherna Alexander Benjamin stressed that you don’t have to leave the page to find you’re looking for as information can easily access now with a click of the button. The profile systematic look is further enhanced which make it very exciting, Benjamin added. Many people may find the change unusual but as soon as they become comfortable with this new change they will forget that they have complained about this new change, why because they have become comfortable with it.”

Facebook vs Google+

Facebook recognizes the predictable competition with Google+ steady growth since it was launched early July. Only this week, Google+ ranks as the eighth largest social network on the Internet, according to Web analytics firm Hitwise.

Google+ should not be underestimated. It has approximately 43 million members. Facebook has a seven-year head start in the social media space and has grown to 800 million members, according to CBS.COM

IMHO I have not experienced something new in Google+ in comparison to the experience I have in Facebook. Yes there are lots of people who joined Google+ but I think it is because of curiosity. Not unless Google+ shows new innovation that is not present in Facebook, I don’t think Google+ will last long. Some shifter from Facebook to Google+ will eventually come back to Facebook.

It will be just like Google buzz.

Facebook Games, is one of the components why Facebook became where they are now. But is not because of Facebook games alone. If nothing will change from Google+ present situation, I think I have an answer to my previous question, and the answer is “NO”

The link will give the following details :

• Direct connections from links through Google Profiles or Connected accounts
• Secondary connections that are publicly associated with your direct connections

This could be good for branding and promoting our blogs on our Google profile. So if you have not yet updated your profile this might be a good chance to promote your blog.

But BEWARE, this could also affect your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) campaign. In my opinion since Google will know all of your blogs that will be connected in your profile, they might discredit the interlinking of this blogs and could results decrease in authority. On the other hand this could also be an added link to your blogs and could certify that your blog is not a spam. 

But of course if you are not gaming the results of Search Engine, you don’t have to be afraid.

I would suggest to link your Main Blog as well as your main social media account to Google Profile. ( I know there are some blogger who have spam blogs interlinking with each other, just to increase the external Link ).

Not all of my contact have their Google Profile updated.

As of this post, I have tried to search through my Galaxy tab and it is not working as mentioned above. I think the interface will one be available to iPad and Android 3.1+ tablets across 36 languages. So I hope that soon I could try this out.
