The above graph shows my AdSense earnings this year compared to last year. I may say that it triples my earnings this year in AdSense Alone. But if you will deduct the expenses for hosting at Dreamhost I may say that it is only a few dollar from my earnings. I was also able to do private Advertising thru forums and contacts in the industry. If I will sum it up ( including Peyd post , Which I already stop doing ) I can say that in this year I made 5 times on what I have last year.

It was a really great year for me and I am looking for another great year to come. I am now studying the ins and outs of Affiliate Marketing and I know I still have lots to learn. So If you want to know the details about it, just keep an eye in my Personal Blog because it is there where I will details the finding that I may find with Affiliate Marketing. Paypal ( Affiliate links ) helps a lot in doing Online Transaction because I am able to transfer payment from Paypal ( Affiliate links ) to my Citibank Credit Card.

I stop doing Peyd Post since I am having issues with my blog indexing and SEO Matters in this blog.

Always remember the saying don’t put the eggs in one basket. try to find other source of income and make your blog as an entrance to those things. Don’t be afraid to look for other niche, try to understand the system and later you will be able to understand it.

Upon checking my Adsense stats I found out that my CTR decrease to about 22%, This is mainly because of the Direct Advertisers but I was able to increase my daily earnings because mainly on blog traffic that I in my last post about 2008 Blogging Statistics.

Biggest earner is this blog, because of the Unique Visits and Regular readers that drive traffic to this blog. Thank You Guys. So watch out for my Blogging Goals for 2009.

Are you willing to remove your AdSense in exchange of Direct Advertising. For me I do , If advertisers are willing to pay 10 times of my present income. Why it’s too much ? Nope it is not nobody knows what will be the future of your site, Visitors is going up as per Google Analytics am I sure that after a year I still have this single digit per day or I will have 2 digit per day . Who knows. I think If I will have to decide on that matter, I will have to put both but reduce the AdSense and get Direct Advertisers.

Where to get Direct Advertisers ?

Usually Direct Advertisers came from Forums. One forum I know that can give lots of Direct Advertisers with right amount is Digital Point and Site Point. Well I tried doing business in Digital Point but not in Site Point. There is also V7n.com.

I have seen some top sites that get advertiser thru bigger Advertising deal, Big means those advertisers that only advertise in Media Prints or Television. I think you have to prove something before you can get those advertisers. Well I personally don’t know how to get one. Usually those big advertiser go to News Paper Site, or Well known media site who have millions of visitors per month.

Just to inform you those Direct Advertisers link at my homepage and side bar gives more income way far behind AdSense.

Maybe some of you will ask why don’t I put my Advertising Page, Well I am planning to put one but as you can see, I need to first re-arrange my theme or I prefer link advertisers, so that it will not annoy my visitors but does it annoys ?

What are the usual requirements of Direct Advertisers ?

1. No of Visitors and Page Views
2. Alexa Rank
3. Google PR
4. SERP Position

If I am going to ask you , which do you prefer AdSense or Direct Advertisers. But before doing any direct negotiation it would be better if you PayPal .

As of yesterday I have done Adsense optimization with this blog. I have added Sidebar Adlinks and Sidebar Banner Text Ads.

I will be monitoring or perhaps plot it on a graph to know if I have increased the CTR ( Click Through Rate ) and CPC ( Cost per Click ) since some forums and blogs says that when your ads is becoming more the CPC ( Cost Per Click ) is becoming low.And some say also that CTR is indirectly proportional with CPC. This is what I would like to find out after some days of testing.

I have already succeeded with my previous Adsense Optimization to get $ 3.33 / day. Now I am aiming for $10.00 / day using passive income.

This might be a hard task and I don’t know when it will come to succeed, anyway at least the first aim succeeds after 3 months

Just a suggestion don’t be so serious on your aim, just blog what you want and don’t blog about the money alone. Just be happy and if you feel exhausted, STOP and REST. You have to remember that sick people cannot blog So just be careful.

Don’t forget to do experiment, It is a way to success be brave and step forward. I have learn lesson today that if you optimize for something don’t forget it. Some of you don’t know that I am also doing post for SEO purpose but I am not bothering my RSS Subscriber and Home Page visitors. I have learn a way to Hide post in homepage and remove those post in my RSS feeds.

I have tried to make post about the Civil Engineering Result but I forget to optimize it. In fact it was not yet indexed by Googel I mean Google.

I am preparing post for my blogging lesson learn during vacation I am just busy this days so just wait for it.

I would like to share some suggestions on how a new blogger or even an old blogger can increase the possibility of being linked by other site. And this might also be a possibility why I got recently upgraded to PR4 by Google.

• I have been joining different Group Writing Contest such as Fixing Leaking of Your Site , Graphic Design , Daily Blog Tips Project, RSS Awareness day, Digg Experience and others. Whenever the site announced those who joined their Group Writing Projects, They will surely link back to you. Choose site which does not look like a spam site. Remember Google also penalize links to bad site.
• All this writing project pertains to the subject of this blog. I am not just joining any writing project just to have back links. So when Google tries to visit those links and back links that I am receiving Google can tell that I am not just spamming.
• By Increasing comment frequency to other blogs, they will surely visit your blog and if they are interested the will give you a link love. I don’t see any problem putting your best post at the links provided when signing, although some might find it spamming. Be sure it relates to the blog post that you are commenting.
• Joining Groups and forums also helps you gain back links.
• Advertise your blog for free

Here are other linking strategy that I made for this blog which I would like to share to all of you.

• Make no-follow attribute to site which you think doesn’t need your link love.
• Make your homepage to have all no-follow, Try to search for a plug-in for this one.
• I have also made some tips regarding better way of linking to your old post.
• Make “me” rel Tag of all your social book marking site, See my footer to know what I mean.
• Doing SEO without sacrificing the authority of the site, So the homepage will not show any topics that does relate to my niche.

I just hope that those above information will help you increase your back links and later increase your PR, As of today I have 1014 Blog reactions as shown in Technorati.com Home Page this might not be very high but still good if you find it good don’t forget to sign in my feeds either thru RSS Feed reader or by e-mail

I prefer to make a post regarding Karlo’s question because his post made me think on how I market my blog to others. Marketing your blog is something you should focus if you really want to be an authority in your niche. Well How do I really make Tech At Hand Dot Net Marketing ?

1) Commenting

I have seen good feedback in commenting to other blogs as what I have wrote before. But it is not just comment in a blog that should be given emphasize try not to forget putting your links and the URL Address in the commenting section. This is where fellow blogger can track you.

2) Joining Forum

Well I have joined different forums ( here and here ) but to tell you the truth I am very lazy with this one. Although I can see some visitors at my site referred buy forum site. Don’t forget to put your signature links targeting your website with proper anchor text.

3) Social Media Sites

Techathand.net is having a good social media site exposure specially in Stumble Upon. I even site the experience I get when my site has been stumbled. Thanks guys whoever is stumbling my site. I also gain some visitor thru Mybloglog. and other social media site.

4) Yahoo Groups

When I join yahoo groups I met a lot of interesting people whom in turn become my regular reader and RSS Subscriber. They also become my so called network bloggers. Why? They link to me and I link to them also.

5) Joining SEO Contest

To tell you the truth I know that I have less chance in winning this SEO Contest. But I can proudly say that most of the time I am at 1st page of Google for those SEO Contest. If the participants could see you at the SERP definitely they could have an interest in your site. And if they found out that you have good content. You will gain another good Visitors or feed subscribers

6) Making Post at Group Blogs

Pinoyblogosphere is of great help to this site and my former site. Since the said site is being indexed by Google fast most of the time I can see some referral coming from those site.

7) The Traditional SEO

Just imagine how many people is searching in a day. If you could just get a percentage of those search that you could let them visit your site. There will always be a possible money on it. Check my SEO Category and I know you will have lot’s of helpful information to gather.

Directory

The last few days I have been submitting my blog in some Directories . I am dreaming that those directory can also be a source of my visitors to this site. It would be great if you could get a Directory that does not require reciprocal links.

9) Entrecard

Entrecard has been a good site of visitors for this site but unfortunately is just giving a high bounce rate. based on stats I am having a 90% bounce rate. Which is too high. So now I seldom dropped cards and just wait for advertiser to have their site here. But when somebody advertise on this site for sure I am checking his post and if I like it he will be included in my Reader

10) Offline Marketing

Although I am also lazy about this I believe that joining a get together, or any gatherings specifically for blogger’s and other netrepreneur could give an additional exposure for your site.

Wheeewww.. That was a big list. So you may not wonder why I choose to make post on Karlo’s question. So what about you, What are you techniques in advertising.

What are the Different Types of Visitors ?

1) Regular Visitors

A regular visitors are those visitor who is continually checking your site everyday looking for some fresh contents. Since this type of visitors believe that they can get good quality from your blog.

2) Referred Visitors

Those are visitors referred by other site who links to you

3) Social Media Visitors

Those are visitors referred by Social Media Site such as DIGG, Reddit, Stumble Upon, Delicious etc.

4) Search Engine Visitors

This visitor is the result of any search engine optimization that you are conducting in order to drive visitors to your site

5) Visitors via Ads

Those are the visitors that comes from you Ad campaign, such as Adwords or from Adbrite

6) Forum Visitors

Those are visitors that come from the links in the forums that you have made. While making conversation to othe forum members.

7) Entrecard Visitors

Those are visitors that come from Entrecard.

Below are some question which explain my opinion about those type of visitors.

Who Should be First Pleased ?

Among those listed type of visitors above, A question arise on whom should You pleased first ? Some may say Social Media Visitors, Some may say the other type of visitors. For me I think You should work out first for the Regular Visitors. Since those visitor are the one who will make your blog alive and kicking. They will be the one who will create conversation in the comments section in which one of an indication that a blog is growing.

It is not worth putting up a blog which don’t have any commenter. This is just like talking to the air where in nobody is listening. Al though regular visitors will seldom press any ads on your blog. Still they are the most important visitors in my blog. I believe that without them my site will not be a better place to stay in the web.

How to Retain Visitors and Make Them a Regular one ?

My own trick is to answer almost all your commenter’s question or opinion. You may agree or disagree, but it is very important for you to reply. To let them think that you value them match. Try to go to their Website and try to find in those category of a subject that you know and then comment.

You will see you feed counts will rise. I came from almost nothing and within a month from the day that this blog has been resurrected now it has 76 Feeds subscriber and about 8,000 unique visits this month. So I can conclude that I am on a right path.

Does my Regular Visitors annoyed with ADs ?

If they do, They can always add a Firefox plugin called adblock. This plugin aim to blocks all ads at this site let my Regular visitors enjoy the real objective in coming to my blog and that is to read my article.

To Whom Should be Your Next Focus ?

If you have already a number of regular visitors perhaps about 50. This information is available from your stat. I am using Google Analytics for that matter. I believe the next in line should be the Referred Visitors. This visitor are the result from a click to a link from other Website who is linked to yours.

Links comes usually comes from regular visitors who have blogs. They are trying to send some readers at your site tipping them on what you are writing. Stats also shows that those referred visitor are more likely to be converted to regular visitors of your blog.

To retain the referred visitors your blog should have a great navigation system in which your visitor can easily see what they want to see.

If am new to a site I usually look for the Top Post, to give me the idea on what kind of niche does a certain blog portray.

Actually when doing your next step to gain links from other blog to have a referred visitor, you are now also doing an optimization to attract visitor from Social Media Site. Since if your referred and regular visitor has an account in Social Media. the tendency is they are going to send your article if they found it great. And after they enter it on the system there is now a chance to get visitors from Social Media Sites.

The Next Should be Search Engine Visitors

This is the part wherein your SEO Skills will be tested. What is the use of a great or tasty food if nobody could find this. This is same thing with blog, If you want your blog to be noticed by those looking for some information. It is really very important that your post will be Search Engine Friendly to gain Search Engine Visitors.

Do we gain from Search engine Visitor?

Definitely Yes, Among all other visitors aside from Visitor via ads, The Search Engine Visitor has high percentage of clicking your ads, because usually those type of visitors are searching for information. And if they found that your ads is giving some good information. For sure they will click it.

With regards to this visitors you will have to prepare your blog for their arrival, such as doing some modification with our AdSense colors, location etc. if you are using AdSense. Some says that you have a very good convertion if you 6% of your visitors clicks your ads.

Then Visitors via ADS

I have read a lot regarding this, but I have not yet tried it. Meaning to say, I need to study how things goes with this one. Not all have succeed in playing with Adwords. But most of the players here are saying that when somebody tries to click and ads you make, there is also a great chance that your visitor will also click the ads that you have on your landing page. But the question on if you can retain them as reader, is I believe a question.

What About Forum & Entrecard Visitors

These visitors are likely to stay since those visitors knows you from the forum. Or they came to your site since they want to know more about you. Another possible RSS Subscriber.
