Former President Corazon Aquino is Dead

Filipinos are mourning for the death of its First ever woman president of the Philippines, Former President Corazon Aquino. She died at the age of 76, Saturday. She was diagnosed to have colon cancer since March 2008 and died of cardio-respiratory arrest at 3:18 am, Saturday, August 1, 2009.

Our beloved Former President Corazon Aquino has been known to be a religious woman that made the Filipino people show their respect for her. She has been known as the agent of Philippine democracy according to Ray Donato, the Philippines consul-general in Atlanta.

Corazon Aquino is part of a wealthy family and studied in the United States. After the death of Ninoy Aquino, her husband she decided to fight for the democracy of the Philippines. She is known for always wearing yellow dress and this has been her trademark. She is also part of the success of the first People Power in the Philippines. Her support for the Filipinos never stopped even after her role as a president was finished. That is why many Filipinos love her and always have a special place in their hearts.
