Davis Cup 2009 continue to heat up after the US Open 2009, The Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group 2009 semi-finals and play-off ties will take place on Davis 18-20 September 2009 in between Croatia and Czech Republic.

Croatia and Czech Republic will meet for the first time in Davis Cup.

Croatia and Czech Republic are Both former Davis Cup champions. This is just the 2nd time that Croatia has reached the semifinals. The nation has won its last 4 ties, having won promotion from Europe/Africa Group I last year and defeated Chile and USA in this year’s World Group competition. It has also won 11 of its last 12 home ties.

Czech Republic is in the semifinals for the first time since 1996, having defeated France and Argentina in this year’s competition.
