Social media and blogging are two popular avenues for reaching out today to make money online. Since search engines love activity via both these avenues, posting effective blog posts that are social media optimized, i.e. easily sharable across social media channels like Facebook and Twitter, is a fruitful activity for many people today, below are the basics steps to make this work for you, too.

Step 1: Effective Blogging Research

Begin by researching your niche to see what people are looking for today. A good place to start is with a keywords. You can use Google’s free AdSense keyword tool or any number of other ones out there, both free and ones that bear costs. Find popular words in your niche and rank them on an Excel spreadsheet to you can see which ones to use in your blog content, your blog’s navigational categories, blog tags and link building activities.

Keywords are important, but not the sole focus, as topics surrounding them evolve and you want to stay on top of that with blogging and social interactions. So go to top news sites and authority sites, including forums, in your niche, and review popular subjects. For instance, to make money online, many people join the Warrior Forum, a top place where Internet marketers hang out. GO there to find out the latest news on making money using social media, blogs, search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, article marketing and many other types of Internet-related activities. You will want to blog about these same types of popular topics on your blog, to attract search engines and people.

Step 2: Money Making Venues

Next, set up ads, affiliate marketing banners, anchor text links and other money generating opportunities on your blog. You can place ads in the sidebars as small banners linked to affiliate products or your own, with direct links or links passing through leads capture pages first, to get people added to your lists via autoresponders.

Also as you post on your blog, have money generating mechanisms within posts, too, like anchor text links for keywords that lead to e-commerce pages of yours or affiliate products, or again your leads capture pages. And have a call to action at the end of each post, inviting readers to sign up for your free ezine to get them in your list, and to subscribe to your blog.

Step 3: Social Media Optimization

Head to Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites you are members of and get widget codes for them to add to your blog. Also look for blog plugins that can create a social media widget so that people can bookmark your blog posts on top social media sites.

That’s it. Get help as needed with virtual assistants, and crank out some bucks blogging!

So What Happen After AdSense Ban ?

I actually went to Hiatus (blogging jargon for not blogging at all) and loose my eagerness to blog. Imagine loosing thousand of dollars because of the ban. I think it last for about 2 to 3 months.

Time comes that my friends are asking why I am not blogging at all and no more tips can be seen in my blog.

I tried to blog again and gain the top 3 level of Technology Section of Pinoy Top Blogs. Lots of opportunity came in, I am receiving lots of email asking me if they can put their ads to my site, Ads that look like AdSense ( in other words it is called PPC – Pay Per Click), I have tried some, but those were not as successful as Marimedia and Smowtion in this blog.

I also tried to update my blog post and do grammar check in my blog post. I am not saying this blog is grammar error free, but it is less now. Thanks to proofreading plug-ins it really help a lot. Btw I have 1500+ post.

Chitika and Infolinks have also shown improvements when AdSense disappear from this blog. Both of them is giving a steady monthly income. Just a tip for infolinks, it is not necessary to maximize the links shown in your post. Less link is better. Make sure that links only shows at the post.

It was also a blessing that this blog was not affected by Google Panda Algorithm update, I think this is due to the on-page optimization that I am applying before Panda update. I am not only focused in link building in making my blog rank. I make sure that there are no errors in this blog by checking the Google Webmaster Tools.

I tried to do affiliate marketing but I think I need to learn more. It is not as easy as it seems to be.

Did I Manage to get a New AdSense Account ?

I also have manage to get a new AdSense account and applied it to new blogs that I made. The AdSense earnings is not as high as before when AdSense is present in Tech At Hand, But enough to get a monthly payment through Western Union.

So How is my Blogging Income Nowadays ?

To those who are asking the figures, I could say that I am still earning 4 figures in dollars per month and sometimes a bit less than 4 figure , AdSense contributing a small part of the income. My earning is enough also to pay my monthly amortization for the Premium Lot land that I am paying in Cavite. Soon I could say that this land is given by God through earnings made by blogging. I am referring to Antel Grand Village (Blog in Progress).

Lesson Learn

Banner ads is not dead, It can still give you a decent earnings. But of course with a god amount of traffic into a particular place. Google Analytics can really give an understanding on how to track website visitors. Ofw can earn extra money from blogging.

Due to comments and concerns about my readers as well as e-mail and comments received in facebook , I would like to give some ideas on how I got banned from Google adSense. I can say that I am guilty of having copyrighted material on my site but not all of my site and not those sites with Google Adsense Codes on it.

Here the points that Google AdSense might have been based their decision.

1. In my link building effort I have made links to my site which have TV Shows and free streaming video online. But all my site with adSense does not have any streaming video.  I am just interlinking them thru footer or some post, This might be their main basis in their decision to banned my account.
2. I have adSense placed on lyrics site, which might be considered as copyrighted materials. ( I have it for more than 3 years )
3. I have sites that has programmed thru php to use adSense if it is English and adsense will be removed if the content is Tagalog and maybe Google Adsense has consider it as only 1 site. But this is a minor concern.
4. I have made some blogspot blogs that pertains to TV shows and my mistake is to use the gmail account that I am using in Google Adsense. It made Google easy to trace my accounts.
5. I have made Google Anayltics using the Google adSense E-mail address in which it is also connected to Blogspot blogs made specially for TV shows, which might be considered as copyrighted materials.

The main lesson learn is to separate link building strategy for your main sites and your copyrighted materials site. It is not a problem to link copyrighted materials to your adsense site , but not to link your adSense site to any copyrighted materials site. Just an advise.

This month might be a low month for me since I have my adsense account banned, I have tried to reinstate my same account and after 3 days they have replied that I am not eligible to make any adSense account.

So what is my plan ? My plan is to make a new account using any of my relatives in Philippines or my wife here in Saudi Arabia, but we might have problems in getting the money since my wife is not here as a working visa. Whenever I get a new account I will not use those account to any of the existing sites that I have, it will be applied to a new and fresh site that will definitely make Google Adsense happy. .

My existing sites will be used for Affiliate marketing sites and direct advertisers. Soon I will change the theme of tech at hand to adjust and fit it’s purpose. This site will still be in existense since there are other source of income that this site is making.

I will also clean this site from the links which I think violates adSense . Some of you might wonder since you did not see this post . Well this is opart of my random post which is hidden to RSS subscribers but not hidden to Google crawlers.

I am now testing some automated tools that will help me later in building again my Adsense Empire site.

I am too busy with my office work this last few weeks that is why i am having hard time to update my blogs. My blogs is just my hobby which let me earn additional income. This is not my main source of income but making money online contributes a portion of my total income.But I still have to earn something to pay my monthly bills thru hosting and my yearly domain payments. But even without adsense I think I could manage.

In the future i will be having affiliates links in my post, but don’t worry I always disclose if it is an affiliate links or not. But for sure I will tell you tools that I will found useful and will help my readers in their SEO Effort. I do believed that using tools to automate what you are doing is not Black Hat but a clever way of implementing White Hat SEO. 

At the moment I have submitted my new application to Google AdSense using my same name but with my middle name , which is not shown in my previous account, I have used the same mailing address just to test how clever is Google. ( Although this is dangerous ) , I also have plan B for this.

By the way I always believe that everything works together for good.

I am always getting email asking me if I need an SEO specialist in order for me to be in Google Top Page. maybe when they are trying to search Google , there are times that they got stumble into my pages where I am telling them that I love SEO. Search Engine Optimization is really cool, Some says that they use black hat, grey hat, white hat or any other  color of hat. For me automation of things in order to go to Google Top 1 is not black hat. It is just a smart way of doing things in SEO industry. Black Hat is something like deceiving the searchers with things that cannot really deliver.

I have never done any SEO Consultation to any company or organization but I have done a lot with my own site. If I will charge fees for SEO Work it will definitely not be lower on how much I am earning nowadays in all my online ventures. And definitely I will charge a monthly fee in order to maintain my work. I don’t think that an SEO’d site will not need any maintenance. SEO is evolving and is constantly changing. Specially nowadays that Google is seeing competition with Facebook.

Doing SEO in any site is not easy, even lot’s of SEO Professional is saying it is only easy. Making SEO needs lots of time and also timing, SEO involves on site optimization and Off site optimization. It involves also proper link building as well as research.

But put it in mind that not all back links are good. There are back links which is only good for generating traffic and not good for increasing Google’s visibility. That is why I told a while ago that research is important. Not all low competition keywords is easy to optimized. When you make any optimization do not think that the things you are doing is just as easy as eating cake.

I still believe that formulating your own checklist will also help you a lot whenever you do keywords optimization. The Key is keyword planning. You need to plan to get to Google Top post.

Observation is also one of the important things to do, you need to observed Google results and see whatever gold mine that you could get from those links and sites in front of you.

Being a member and being friendly with other SEO Practitioner will also help a lot in your learning process. Be a member of SEO Forum.

Search Engine Marketing is also a must in your way up to Google and Web Traffic.

Since new tv commercial tends to creates curiosity among viewers.  So you just have to add review related keywords or comment related keyword from those items. And  then look for some comments or review in the internet by other actual user and link to them. You may put your own review  if you tried to use the products. Then try to add keywords which are related to  ” price “ , ” Cost “, ” how much “, etc. People tend to know how much budget will they spare with those new products on the TV.

Source of Income

Well first of all I would like to tell you guys that my source income come from different sources namely , infolinks, bidvertiser, Google Adsense, Direct Advertisers, Blog Bank, Dream Host Affiliate, Nuffnang, Chitika, Admob .  The biggest earner is Google Adsense which contributes 69% of my Gross Income. and the remaining 31% is from others. This blog gives the highest share in my Direct Advertisers and Google Adsense Earnings . I also own other blogs which gives passive income from Google Adsense and Infolinks.

Comparison of Year 2008 Earnings

ussually I am giving graphs to show my earning comparison for different years , so you need You need to see my 2008 and 2007 earning report in order to get an idea how much did I get last year. So here is the graph for this year.

I have included my last 2 years earnings graph and this only shows that based on year 2007 I got about 500% increase and 200% increase based on last year earnings. This only shows that since my blog statistics double form last year, the earning is directly proportional to it.

I did not push thru with affiliate marketing this year, since I think I still need to study the ins and out of it. My blog expenses is eaqual to 19% of my gross earnings. This includes , hosting payment, Domain Registration, Contest sponsorsjip, Event sponsorship etc..

I hope to multiply my earnings this year, I don’t know if it will double or triple or divided by 2 ha ha ha. anyway whatever it is, Let see what happen this year. I do give tithes for my online earnings so I only have spent 90% of my earnings to different gadgets that I acquire last year. I think it will be part of my next post.

So here’s what happen yesterday, We arrived at  Malcolm Hall at about 8:45 AM. All is excited with the Blogger’s Summit that will be held all thru out the day. Me and my wife registered and good to know that the first 300 registered attendees will have their Free ID holder.

I would like to thank  Janette Toral for Presenting me again the award that I got at the Digital Filipino Professional Blogger Category.

First Speaker was Mica and Aj Matela they talk about Blogging 101, the Basic information that every newbie bloggers should know about blogging, I must say that the speakers says what the bloggers should know about the topic.

The second set of speaker talks about Photo Blogging, it was discussed by ,Faith Salazar and Fritz Tentativa , I learn new tips about Photography with this two speaker, I remember about the Rule of Thirds and the Golden Hour in photography.

The third set of speaker was Azrael Coladilla and Kring Elenzano where they talk about Video Blogging, I have not yet tested doing Video Blogging, well actually because I am shy in Video . I might as well shoot some video and upload it and share it to my readers. The two speakers shares some tips on how you will be able to do videos that will be accommodated in Youtube.

The fourth speaker was Edwin “Ka Edong” Soriano, it is the first time I saw Edwin, I thought he was old and it is only yesterday that I know He is not , we have some Online conversation already . And it s good to meet Edwin in person. I hope we can chat more in future and share some knowledge in blogging about technology.

The last speaker for the Morning session was Benj Espina and Juned Sonido , The energetic Benj speaks about his opinion on what he believes is the do’s and don’ts in blogging. While Juned speaks the Do’s and Don’t in blogging which focused in Google Webmasters suggestion, Juned even gave free dinner to the one that answer his question.

During the Lunch time I met some bloggers where I only met online it includes James of Pinoy Money Talk , Jonel Uy, Melvin T Del Pilar, Randy Marasigan, Jeffrey Aspacio and new blogger Devie Ontolan ,Jhelo and Kapeng Barako from SEOph Forum ( Thanks for sharing ) .  I would also like to thank iblog5 admin for having a good lunch and merienda .

So the Summit continues and the first speaker in the afternoon was Atty. JJ Disini , Legal issues in Blogging , I actually heard him last year and He discusses issues about fair use, It is only now that I discovered that government site is not included in the copyright law. and it is only yesterday I knew that the copyright of a certain materials that you made starts on the first point of your work. The water mark in pictures was also discussed.

Dir. James Jimenez, COMELEC-EID Director, discusses about the importance of having blogger involvement during the election. He also says that they don’t have jurisdiction with those possible candidates that are now having TV Ads since those person have not yet filed their candidacy.

Janette Toral discusses about the Citizen Journalism for the 2010 Elections, Oliver Robillo was not able to come so his topic was also discussed by Janette, If in case you want to be part of the bloggers that will watch election in 2010 don’t hesitate to contact Janette She is now being contacted by different NGO about the possible Bloggers interaction during the 2010 Election. She is also preparing a Blogger Election Handbook.

The next set of speakers were Mannix Pabalan – AyosDito, Kristine Mandigma – Philippine Online Chronicles, Laszlo Lim, Business Development Head – Yehey, Jayvee Fernandez and Eric Ramirez , they actually promote their different site but ofcourse they are the sponsors.

And ofcourse after this their is a 5 minutes break during the break time I was able to meet Jehzlau ( Check your calling card although it is redirected ) , Noemi Dado The Momblogger , Marhgil and his wife , It was nice to meet in person all those online friends.

The last speaker in the afternoon was Fitz Villafuerte and Anton Diaz , Fitz shares the bomb about the SEO He share those tips that normally SEO practitioner are not sharing.. Oops if you are not present try to comment and contact him at his blog. He has 5 tips.. And I all agree with his explanation specially about the Social Media Optimization , ( Nice Tips Fitz ) He also announced that he knows some blogger earning more than $1000 , He did not mention the names . Or else those people will be liable from BIR , Anton also shares tips on how to bring your blog into next level like affiliate marketing and Being an entrepreneur , and that was the first time I heard about Maven Blogger .
