We’ve just received a updates from Google AdSense that Singapore, Cambodia and Laos will now be able to get their AdSense earning through Western Union rather than through a cheque. See below announcement from Adsense :

We understand that payment options are very important to you, so we continuously work to improve them. Today we’re happy to announce that we’ve expanded Western Union Quick Cash® as an AdSense payment method to three additional countries: Singapore, Cambodia and Laos.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with this form of payment, Western Union Quick Cash payments are free and will reach you faster than checks.  Payments follow our normal payment schedule and are available for pickup in  your local currency at your local Western Union agent the day after they’re issued.

It’s important to note that at this time we can only send Western Union payments to publishers that have an individual account. Also, the payee name on your account must exactly match the government-issued ID card that you’ll use when picking up your payments. For more information on how to sign up for and pick up Western Union payments, please visit our Help Center.

PayPal would be more convenient in receiving payment since we don’t have to fall in line and fill up forms in Western Union. Saudi Arabia and Philippines has been using Western Union for a long time. PayPal has launched the NFC mobile payment to retailers this holiday season in Sweden as the pilot location. According to Mobile Payments Today, it is a first ever test that PayPal initiated to gather response from customers and merchants as part of its strategy before a wider roll out in 2012.

PayPal teamed up with Alpingaraget and Webhallen to make the program possible. Both were Swedish retailers based in Stockholm locations: with Alpingaraget, a leading provider of ski and sports equipment, while Webhallen is specialized in electronics.

Both retailers will require an app, called PayPal Instore, from customers to have their smartphones affixed with NFC stickers to be able to make a purchase through the point-of-sale machines. This app is available for download on iPhone and Android smartphones.

Customers with PayPal account may use the service through a link of app to NFC tag information. Simply tap the mobile close to an NFC (Near field communication) enabled Point AB reader, and the items to be purchased will appear then followed by confirmation and transaction is completed.

In a related story, Smart Communication Philippines also launched NFC enabled payment for mobile phone earlier this month called Tap2Pay. Smart offered a free smart money account for Nokia C7 owners with starting balance of P50 to promote the project.

The e-cards are posted to your friends’ Facebook wall but the messages will be kept private. There is also an option to just send money without using the e-cards. This new app is a very good and timely marketing move since 80% of Paypal users also use Facebook. This is another proof of the rising relation of e-commerce to social media.

I saw from Amit Agarwal blog post that paypal is automatically reversing every transaction (Paypal Chargeback) or payment received in excess of $500, This is in accordance to rule set forth by RBI (Reserve Bank of India – India’s Central Bank)guidelines. According to the post, PayPal will also ”reverse all the previous payments you may have received in your account in or after March 2011 that exceeded the said amount”. So what if a certain online marketer receives an amount of $10,000 as total transaction, which exceeds to $500 ? It will just be reversed (Send back) to the sender.

I just hope that our fellow online marketers blogger in India can resolve this issue.

We hope that the same incidents will not happen to Philippines, where we know that lots of Pinoy bloggers and Pinoy Marketers are receiving their payment through PayPal. Indians should find a way to received payments in other method. Payment through Cheque or Wire Transfer would probably better option.

I have experienced paypal reversal for unauthorized payment as I blog before, and I know how frustrating to have a negative value in PayPal Account.

How did it Start ?

Well actually it all begun when somebody from Marimedia.net send me a note in my contact page as follows

So what is the advantage for us Filipinos ?

The advantage is you will have a fixed amount that will be deducted in your account, Giving the seller an exact amount as per their request. Not unlike if you pay in dollar and suddenly the exchange rate changes you will automatically be a looser or a gainer.
