How Influential Are You In Social Media ?

I just run accross this program called KLOUT,

The Klout Score is the measurement of your overall online influence. The scores range from 0 to 100 with higher scores representing a wider and stronger sphere of influence. Klout uses over 25 variables to measure True Reach, Amplification Probability, and Network Score. The size of the sphere is calculated by measuring True Reach (engaged followers and friends vs. spam bots, dead accounts, etc.). Amplification Probability is the likelihood that messages will generate retweets or spark a conversation. If the user’s engaged followers are highly influential, they’ll have a high Network Score.

Upon knowing the system, I found out that I am not maximizing the use of twitter in social media work but rather I am more focussed in facebook.

Information they are providing is divided into three parts :

  1. True Reach – True Reach is the size of your engaged audience.
  2. Amplication Probability – Amplification Probability is the likelihood that your content will be acted upon
  3. Network Influence – Network Influence is the influence level of your engaged audience

    It seems I got a klout score of 16 which for some weird reason is higher than you. I also don’t quite understand why some folks are influencing me when I have never engaged in a conversation with them.
