During our visit at Abu Dhabi We’ve got a chance to visit La Brioche Restaurant. We ordered steak with salad. It was a great lunch. Just want to share the pics taken by my tab.

There are some tech gadget which are available here and no way can be found in Saudi. As an example I was able to buy the Galaxy Tab Dock for Dhs 289.

I could say that Dubai is busy compared to Abu Dhabi. I am now staying at NOVOTEL Hotel.

In Villa Angela you could really experience living in an old house which also shows how hospitable are Ilocanos. I forget to ask the names of Ate and Kuya who have managed to make our stay in Villa Angela a great time. They really let us feel that we are a part of the family who just made our vacation in Vigan. As if we are not traveler but a part of the family.

Ghost ? Hhhmm.. Ofcourse there is no ghost in this place, My children was afraid at first but after the day of staying in this place they are asking me to extend for another day but unfortunately we have already booked in other hotel in Laoag . We stayed in Cuarto De Las Hijas.

Breakfast was included in the rate that they have provided me. You could choose from Daing na Bangus or Longanisa. They have different rate for different time of the year. So you better check with them.

Villa Angela is located very near to Crisologo street in Vigan Heritage City. Crisologo street is a place in Vigan where you could really see old houses. The area is preserved to defict the old Vigan. It is also a walking distance from Grocery stores where you could buy anything that you need in your vacation.

Mode of transportation are Calesa and Tricycle.

I therefore recommend Villa Angela to travelers in Vigan. Villa Angela was indeed one of the best place to stay in Vigan

Suggestion and Recommendation

Villa Angela does not have Wifi Connection but you could use their computer in their office to be connected to the internet. Free of charge. I think it would be better if they could set up an internet connection in ” Sala ” or in the room.

What Do I need to Book Online

Here are the needed information in Booking Online thru PAL.

1. Complete information of the passenger ( Email, Phone number, etc, age, birthday )
2. Credit Card
3. ID
4. Mabuhay Miles Number
5. Internet Connection

If you have the above information you may proceed to Philippine Airline Home Page and fill up the below shown details

And then you can get the details by pressing Search, You may choose the lowest fare which depends on time of departure and time of arrival. Usually if you will take the earliest time it will be the cheapest fare.

You better choose Econolight Fares if you are on Budget. but you better do the online booking / reservation months before the flight in order to get the Econolight Fares

Warning in Booking Online Thru PAL ( Philippine Airlines )

You need to check your e-mail just after you make your online booking, sometimes it shows error in their system after paying but when you check your email they have already sent you the booking confirmation. It happens to me , I thought the transaction was not successful and it is late to know that my card has been charged and booking has been confirmed. It will be next to impossible to refund the money that was charged to your credit card their system is slow when checking this kind of claim specially when you are out of Philippines. So better be very careful so not to be double charge.

Observation and Suggestion

Great that i was informed about 2 weeks before my flight that the booking has been adjusted. So better put the e-mail that you frequently use to be informed in any changes that PAL may implement. if you are using Citibank , You could also choose to make the Paylite Option of Citibank for Travelers. The best thing is we don’t need to have a booking agent fee in doing online booking.

Other suggestion if you want to save on your travel is to check first the Hotel Booking Rate and compare different options on how you could save. This is a tech blog but usually i am converting this blog as a Travel Blog while on Vacation. By the way it is also a way of doing SEO for places that i visited just for information.

I hope to have a great trip to Laoag and Vigan. This is our next travel after our vacation in Batangas. So any suggestion to visit in Vigan and Laoag, I have some location based on my internet and friend research, you might add some great place where you find it great to visit in laoag. If you are an OFW ( Overseas Filipino Worker ) on vacation, And if your family is living with you overseas and they need to travel back to the country where you are working , you need to get the Travel Tax Exemption Certificate from the Philippine Tourism Agency. to avoid a travel tax payment of PHP 1,800 each dependent  before leaving the Philippines.

What are the Travel Tax Exemption Requirements ?

For your daughter and son, you need to bring the following :

1. Original Copy of Birth Certificate
2. Original Passport
3. Original Certified Copy of your OEC ( Overseas Employment Certificate )
4. Copy of their Ticket

For your wife, you need to bring the following :

1. Original Copy of Marriage Certificate
2. Original Passport
3. Original Certified Copy of your OEC ( Overseas Employment Certificate )
4. Copy of their Ticket

How much will it cost per OFW Dependent ?

It will cost PHP 500 pesos per dependent.

How long will it take to get the Certificate ?

It takes about 2 hours to complete all  the process.

Suggestion and Comments

It will be better for  Philippine Tourism Agency to invest for a high speed scanner and good archiving system.  During my first attempt they did not accept my application since I did not bring the original documents even I am renewing every year for almost 6 years already. At first I presume that they have a proper documents archives where they can verify that I am already renewing the documents for almost 6 years . I hope next year they can have a better system where they could check their archives  and not to ask the OFW to bring the original documents everytime they need to renew.

I have seen some incident that OFW is coming from far province just to be rejected for technicalities as mentioned above. We are already in a time where technology is available everywhere and I was amazed that Philippine Tourism Agency is still not embracing the technology.

I also remember their supervisor saying ” We are not the same with other countries where they could have this kind of technology ” ( referring to the archiving system ) when I am urging them to issue the certificate without the presence of the original Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate.

But one thing i noticed is that the receipt is now computer printed and not a handwritten receipt like before. The issuance of Travel Tax Certificate is also faster than before and I thank them for the improvement.
