A few days ago different tweets and updates says that Pod2G and a few hackers from the Chronic Dev Team were close to releasing a jailbreak for the latest Apple devices ( iPhone 4S and the iPad 2). And now it appears that the wait is over since the A5 Jailbreak is now released. The Recent Jailbreak is called Absinthe. The jailbreak, is only limited to the Mac Users but soon the PC version will also be released. A tweet by p0sixninja, one of the developers of the jailbreak states that the Windows and Linux version will be available in the near future.

According to different blogs, iPhone 4s and Ipad 2 will ave to run iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1, but the Wi-Fi only version of the iPad 2 will need to use the latest OS which is iOS 5.0.1. The Greenpois0n Absinthe tool onto their Mac computer and install the software. It is always advisable to back all content of your device since this is a new release and a bug is expected to be seen. It is always recommended to jailbreak after few days and when it becomes fine.

What is Moblin OS

Moblin, short for ‘mobile Linux‘, is an open source operating system and application stack for Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs), netbooks, nettops and embedded devices.Built around the Intel Atom processor, current builds are designed to minimize boot times and power consumption to create a netbook and MID-centric operating system. So it is an open source operating sytem and further research lead me to http://moblin.org/ where they aim to ” create the mobile internet future “ Moblin is an open source project focused on building a Linux-based platform optimized for the next generation of mobile devices including Netbooks, Mobile Internet Devices, and In-vehicle infotainment systems.

So this gives me a clear idea that Moblin OS is trying to compete with Windows OS, but the good thing is that Moblin is free. So will this be the best free open source OS of the future ? I don’t know how to use Linux and I cannot answer and commnet.

Don’t forget to back up before doing anything

BumpTop can get by with a 1.4-gigahertz processor, a gigahertz of main memory, and an integrated graphics card. Those components aren’t necessarily all that demanding. But if you have lots of items on your desktop, it will slow down and choke on the processing task. It’s better to use a machine with a dedicated 3-D graphics processor.
