Have you ever been in a situation when you need to send an email to your client or a friend and you need to send it a very specific time but because of limited Internet use (or maybe you will not be able to be online at that specific time tomorrow), you totally forgot to send it? Don’t you just wish you can schedule your Gmail messages?

Sad to say, there is no Gmail feature that allows you to schedule your messages. But the good news is that there is a free application that you can take advantage of to schedule your email messages and send it when you want it even if you are not online.

You can download Boomerang right in your PC and install this feature directly to your Gmail. Download will take less than a minute and can be done if you are using Google Chrome or a Mozilla Firefox browser. Once you downloaded this add-on, it will appear right at the top right corner of your Gmail ready for you to use.

Aside from scheduling your mail for sending at a later time, it also allows you to postpone receiving messages so they can come out as a new message at your desired time. You can choose options such as send “tomorrow morning” which will send the email at a random time in the morning or set a specific date and time when you want your message to be sent.

The downside of this nifty application is that it is only available with Gmail via Chrome and Firefox. You also need to grant access to your Gmail for Boomerang to work. This simple plug-in is a useful tool for those who needs it and for those who mainly use their email for work correspondence. Give it a try and you might find it features useful too!

I also found out that in order to verify your information , the program will ask you to finish a certain online quiz or online survey which will of course lead to tons of money to the account owner.They will earn in every completed survey.

So be very careful in accepting request and application in facebook.

The malicious script will run and will send request to your friend list.

I have also found out that they are using blogspot blogs and .info domains as their landing page.

So if you receive such request better to ignore and inform your friend that it is a SCAM.

Actually my goal is to link to a page where my visitor could see the topics that relates to a keywords in my post. There are lots of possible ways to do it.

Some might install a related post plugin , and some might merge a search box inside the post, and some might link to a tag page or Category Page but as for my experiments the best result is to use a link to a search page .

Search page could be made in different ways such as linking to a Google Search results , which I believe is not adding juice in your blog. Although it has a high chance of  showing Google AdSense Ads on the search results, Sometime no ads is showing Up. ( example : SEO Tips ) , thru the example you are linking to a Google Search results page.

How about doing the same thing but directing it to your own site and make sure that there are Google Adsense Ads that will show up , You may use the search function of WordPress as follows : http://techathand.net/?s=seo+tips ( Example : SEO Tips ) but did you know that there is a better way of linking to your search page without using ” ?s=seo+tips ” which is not good for SEO because of those ” ?= ” string. So here we are WordPress user could use this SEO Friendly Search syntax :

http://domain-name.com/search/keywords ( example : SEO Tips ) Check the URL upon pressing the links.

Standard search page in WordPress will not show Google AdSense Ads , you have to alter the search.php to include Google Adsense. I think it could be a subject of another blog post on how to alter search.php.

This is better than linking to tag page or category page , since you don’t have to worry on putting tag to a certain post with a particular keywords.Using  search function of WordPress, You can easily link to any keywords and let the search function look for the database.

But of course Direct Internal Linking is also beneficial to your blog as well as your visitors.

Warning in Booking Online Thru PAL ( Philippine Airlines )

You need to check your e-mail just after you make your online booking, sometimes it shows error in their system after paying but when you check your email they have already sent you the booking confirmation. It happens to me , I thought the transaction was not successful and it is late to know that my card has been charged and booking has been confirmed. It will be next to impossible to refund the money that was charged to your credit card their system is slow when checking this kind of claim specially when you are out of Philippines. So better be very careful so not to be double charge.

Observation and Suggestion

Great that i was informed about 2 weeks before my flight that the booking has been adjusted. So better put the e-mail that you frequently use to be informed in any changes that PAL may implement. if you are using Citibank , You could also choose to make the Paylite Option of Citibank for Travelers. The best thing is we don’t need to have a booking agent fee in doing online booking.

Other suggestion if you want to save on your travel is to check first the Hotel Booking Rate and compare different options on how you could save. This is a tech blog but usually i am converting this blog as a Travel Blog while on Vacation. By the way it is also a way of doing SEO for places that i visited just for information.

If you are an OFW ( Overseas Filipino Worker ) on vacation, And if your family is living with you overseas and they need to travel back to the country where you are working , you need to get the Travel Tax Exemption Certificate from the Philippine Tourism Agency. to avoid a travel tax payment of PHP 1,800 each dependent  before leaving the Philippines.

Suggestion and Comments

It will be better for  Philippine Tourism Agency to invest for a high speed scanner and good archiving system.  During my first attempt they did not accept my application since I did not bring the original documents even I am renewing every year for almost 6 years already. At first I presume that they have a proper documents archives where they can verify that I am already renewing the documents for almost 6 years . I hope next year they can have a better system where they could check their archives  and not to ask the OFW to bring the original documents everytime they need to renew.

I have seen some incident that OFW is coming from far province just to be rejected for technicalities as mentioned above. We are already in a time where technology is available everywhere and I was amazed that Philippine Tourism Agency is still not embracing the technology.

I also remember their supervisor saying ” We are not the same with other countries where they could have this kind of technology ” ( referring to the archiving system ) when I am urging them to issue the certificate without the presence of the original Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate.

But one thing i noticed is that the receipt is now computer printed and not a handwritten receipt like before. The issuance of Travel Tax Certificate is also faster than before and I thank them for the improvement.
