This year is a great year for Tech At Hand Dot Net, a year when I experience lots of things from high traffic, to Google AdSense ban, Panda update bomb and many more. But this year is the most fruitful year for me when it comes to financial blessings through this blog and my other blogs. So let me itemized the great things and opportunities that happen to me this year.

Here are some points to encourage new bloggers:

1. I manage to earn a net online income of six digit in Philippine Peso for one month and a constant five digit in Philippine Peso per month. (I am not a full-time blogger)
2. This year, I understood the importance of having collaboration and getting new ideas for this blog. I learn that blogging could be a business and I could enjoy blogging without being burn out. [ Blog as an investment ]
3. We were hit by Panda update and the traffic goes down to 50%. Some of the keywords which I am ranking for years have been hit by SEO Panda update. It’s an opportunity because it urge me to study again the new techniques of SEO nowadays. I started reading updates from different SEO blog that I am subscribed before.
4. We were given the Tech Blog Award by PEBA.
5. My blog earnings manage to pay the monthly amortization of our lot purchased at Antel Grand Village (It’s 27 T per month)
6. I have learned other sources of blog income aside from AdSense. Special thanks to Nuffnang and Marimedia.
7. We manage to close deals with some advertisers in this blog.
8. After my AdSense ban, I was able to know that Chitika (I reinstate my Chitika  gold account after the ban) also pays good and a great AdSense alternative.
9. Tech At Hand manage to have a new advertisers..
10. I have manage to increase my domains to 30+, some of them is just a protection domain to those earning domains. It is my prevention from domain squatting.

Below is a screen shot of my blog performance this year 2011, I manage to get 1 million Unique Visitors and 1.4 Million Page views. It is actually double than last year visit. As you can see Panda update have really affected our traffic. The big drop of traffic actually happen at mid of October. We have not yet recovered on that update. But I do hope that future update will be good for us. It was only on December when I manage to get back the AdSense of this blog. No AdSense in my blog from January to November of this year. But I still manage to get my online income as shown in #1. I have now reduced intrusive ads and replace it with AdSense.

There is really money in blogging, you just have to concentrate on what you are doing and think out of the box. Don’t forget to get some advise from others. Collaboration is also good. I will post y plan for next year by next week.

Social media and blogging are two popular avenues for reaching out today to make money online. Since search engines love activity via both these avenues, posting effective blog posts that are social media optimized, i.e. easily sharable across social media channels like Facebook and Twitter, is a fruitful activity for many people today, below are the basics steps to make this work for you, too.

Step 1: Effective Blogging Research

Step 2: Money Making Venues

So What Happen After AdSense Ban ?

I actually went to Hiatus (blogging jargon for not blogging at all) and loose my eagerness to blog. Imagine loosing thousand of dollars because of the ban. I think it last for about 2 to 3 months.

Time comes that my friends are asking why I am not blogging at all and no more tips can be seen in my blog.

I tried to blog again and gain the top 3 level of Technology Section of Pinoy Top Blogs. Lots of opportunity came in, I am receiving lots of email asking me if they can put their ads to my site, Ads that look like AdSense ( in other words it is called PPC – Pay Per Click), I have tried some, but those were not as successful as Marimedia and Smowtion in this blog.

I also tried to update my blog post and do grammar check in my blog post. I am not saying this blog is grammar error free, but it is less now. Thanks to proofreading plug-ins it really help a lot. Btw I have 1500+ post.

Chitika and Infolinks have also shown improvements when AdSense disappear from this blog. Both of them is giving a steady monthly income. Just a tip for infolinks, it is not necessary to maximize the links shown in your post. Less link is better. Make sure that links only shows at the post.

It was also a blessing that this blog was not affected by Google Panda Algorithm update, I think this is due to the on-page optimization that I am applying before Panda update. I am not only focused in link building in making my blog rank. I make sure that there are no errors in this blog by checking the Google Webmaster Tools.

I tried to do affiliate marketing but I think I need to learn more. It is not as easy as it seems to be.

Did I Manage to get a New AdSense Account ?

I also have manage to get a new AdSense account and applied it to new blogs that I made. The AdSense earnings is not as high as before when AdSense is present in Tech At Hand, But enough to get a monthly payment through Western Union.

So How is my Blogging Income Nowadays ?

To those who are asking the figures, I could say that I am still earning 4 figures in dollars per month and sometimes a bit less than 4 figure , AdSense contributing a small part of the income. My earning is enough also to pay my monthly amortization for the Premium Lot land that I am paying in Cavite. Soon I could say that this land is given by God through earnings made by blogging. I am referring to Antel Grand Village (Blog in Progress).

Lesson Learn

Banner ads is not dead, It can still give you a decent earnings. But of course with a god amount of traffic into a particular place. Google Analytics can really give an understanding on how to track website visitors. Ofw can earn extra money from blogging.

Questions,When Making Blog Post.

1. Will this blog post interest my 4500+ feeds subscribers ?
2. Does my title is includes keyword that could be found by the Search Engine Searchers ?
3. Is it the usual terms that the people is typing in search engines ?
4. Did I mentioned my targeted keywords in my blogs ?
5. Will I not be ashamed in promoting this blog post over my social media friends ?

And here are the things I am doing if my answer is “NO” to the above mentioned questions,

1. if my answers is no, and I still want to post about it, I will usually make the post to appear on my sidebar and not sending it across my subscribers. So in short, I am making the post for bots and search engine for keywords hijacking. Check my blog post when I say that there is now no hidden post in this blog
2. If my answer is no , and I still want to post the topic, I will just change the title using ALL in One WordPress Plugin
3. Same method for number is being implemented.
4. I just make sure that I have enough keywords in my blog post that will not bother my readers.
5. I normally do not post about it, as an example if there are some news in the net in which it does not go with my belief, then I will just pass the opportunity on writing about it.

More Tips When Making Blog Post :

1. If I I had a hard time getting information in the net. I will blog about the result of my research, chances are there are no bloggers post about it and there are no competition on this particular keywords.Normally those kind of keywords are being searched by internet users who clicks the ads.
2. Long post is not always best for readers. Most of the time they just look at the post title, then scan the post,  and then go to the comments section without reading the full article. So why aim for a long post? I believe having 200 to 300 words is enough for a normal post.
3. Don’t forget to add pictures/images in your post, it does not only good for your readers but also good for search engine optimization, provided that a proper picture tag is made.

4. It is tricky if one decides “not to register” a promotion. DTI or any government agency that covers your promotion, under the Consumer Act of the Philippines, can run after you if a consumer files a complaint about it citing that “you are running a promotion without the required DTI Sales Promotion Permit”.

DTI should be more clear about this directives since not everybody in the net that blogs about Philippines and makes contest for Filipinos is residing in Philippines. I am living in Saudi Arabia and I blog about Philippines, If I want to share the blessing that I earn from blogging to my readers as my appreciation to their continued patronage of my blog, Do I have to go to my barangay and city to get a mayors permit ? So where can I get it in Saudi Arabia?

Blogs is not registered in any physical place in the world. Not unless the blogs is connected to a certain firm, which form part of the marketing arm of a certain company.

There are only few people who earn from blogging, who make money online in Philippines.

5. How come individuals, like bloggers, can’t be exempted from this promotion (especially if one spends personal money for it)?
DTI says that only registered businesses can run a sales promotion and get the necessary permits. The intent is to protect the consumer and ensure that promotions are done compliant to guidelines. Selection of winners are done fairly and make sure they won’t be cheated. I suggest for bloggers to explore the Barangay Micro Business Enterprises Law Act.

Does it means that, I need to be a registered business to be allowed to make contest ? So How if an International Bloggers make the contest ? and most of the bloggers that join the contest are Filipinos ? Do they have to go after this international bloggers and complain in International Court ?

If a run a bloggers contest, my readers join because of trust and I gave what I promise because I am protecting the trust that has been given to me by this people.

DTI Should understand that Blogging and Online Community is something different from offline community. DTI should focus first on controlling those contest that is being held in the television and offline world. DTI should first understand the ins and out of blogging.

IF DTI really want to carry out this, DTI should amend their policy and make it applicable to the present situation of Online Community.

There will be A DTI briefing on August 5 August 3 August 4 (new date according to @digitalfilipino ) where all bloggers could join. I am sorry but I could not attend since I am an OFW.

I have seen that GMA 7 have started showing their social media awareness campaign titled ” Think Before You Click ” as shown in below video from you tube.

It is a campaign against the cyber bullying and harassment.

“Think Before You Click” aims to promote the responsible use of social media and encourage Filipinos to be more mindful of what they post, to think before they hit the enter key.

On my opinion the would be blogger # 3, will succeed and be a good Pro Blogger and Internet Marketer in the future. Would you believe that when I start blogging I don’t know that I could really earn from it. Check my AdSense Story, I first earn online through Google AdSense, but now I am earning from other sources also. I always treat my blog post as an investment because I know that someday, those blog  post could become my source of income. A TV interview at GMA 7 ( August 2007 )  open the ideas that bloggers have the potential of  earning. I may not reach $6,000 per month, but I love what I am doing. I earn friends and citations from different bloggers, which I believe is one of a great achievement of a blogger. Seeing new bloggers start earning and loving what they are doing is an achievement for me.
