Tech At Hand is Expanding it’s Coverage to Saudi Tech Stuff

I have decided today to expand Tech At Hand’s coverage to involve Saudi Tech Stuff, I have been staying in Saudi Arabia for almost 8 years and I have seen how Saudi Arabia is updated when it comes to Technology and gadget. This might also open the possibility of receiving tech Gadgets for review here in Saudi Arabia, although at the moment I have not seen a solid Tech Blog written in English Language that covers Saudi Technology Market.

I also thought that we have lots of Filipinos working here in the Middle East and sometimes they want to get information about the tech gadget that their family is asking. It maybe about new phone, Laptop, Camera, MP3 gadgets and etc.

So I hope that this blog could also help my fellow OFW when it comes to Gadgets available in Saudi Arabia. All post regarding Saudi Technology will reside at Saudi Tech Stuff category that I will open today. I thought of opening a new sub domain for this alone but I think some of our readers would also love to see updates in Saudi Technology Market. This may also be used to compare prices from Saudi to Philippines.

You can also expect to see present cost of those gadget that I might see in Saudi Market. So I hope this will be beneficial for all of us.

With respect to your post. How do we really compare when it comes to technology in the Middle East. Are we really far behind? I have learned that most of the electrical equipments like mp3’s, phone’s and notebooks are a lot cheaper there? Do they manufacture their own or they still import? Are they like South Korea that they have their own brand and for what I have experienced their technology is far more advance than that of ours in the Philippines. Philippines would be a good testing ground from the looks of it but to produce our own would definitely be needing humongous capital, yes, we have the talent and the capability but nah. Just to make the blog more active and interesting comparing Asian to Asian tech would be a good topic.

Thanks for your interest about Middle east Technology, I can only tackle subject about Saudi Arabia since this is where I am working..

I cannot see any technological innovation being made here on saudi arabia , most of the known tech gadget also comes from US or china. There are only few tech gadget that really came from Saudi. There might be some that comes from Dubai or Abu Dhabi but Saudi is behind them.

I cannot say that their technology here is more advanced but they have the money to buy the technology compare to Philippines.

I will post some of your sugestion to compare asian to asian tech and let see where are we in Philippines.

Most of the time I can see gadget here that are yet to be launch in Philippines
