Yahoo acquires blog tracking company BuzzTracker as announced at their site.
BuzzTracker tracks 110,000 content sources online — which include blogs and mainstream media — and uses an algorithm to sort them by importance, which the site then presents in various topical feeds
As per Market sources of news.techwhack.com they claim that Yahoo paid close to around USD 5 million for this deal.
I believe this is a good move from Yahoo so that they can expand their advertising business.
Yahoo is the competitor of Google. I Just wonder why Yahoo does not want to expand it’s advertising business and let blogger outside US use their Yahoo Advertising. Unlike Google who gives opportunity to blogger outside US thru Adsense.
